Patsy Clifton

Patsy trained as a registered nurse in Birmingham back in 2003, then worked in A+E/MAU and ITU. Patsy made the jump to primary care initially in Sexual Health and then to General Practice, whilst doing her post graduate Advanced Practice training in 2013. Patsy completed a further MSc in Leadership for Healthcare Professionals, and is currently working towards a Professional Doctorate, alongside working as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner. She also now works as a Consultant Nurse within a Telford Practice.

Within the practice, Patsy assesses, diagnoses and prescribes patients for a variety of conditions, but her specialist interests are Minor Ops and Women’s Health. She is a registered LARC fitter and trainer with the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health.

Patsy is the Advanced Practice Lead Facilitator for Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin ICS and works within The Training Hub to support Advanced Practitioners and further the Advanced Practice agenda, with regular forum education sessions, training and development programme planning alongside peer support and role development.

Outside of work, Patsy spends her time mostly studying and working towards on her thesis, and keeping up with her son, Wilson the dog and husband on hikes.
