Dr Melanie Thompson
Dr Thompson has over 25 years of experience as a doctor initially specialising in sexual health, gynaecology and obstetrics before choosing a career in general practice. She currently works as a GP Partner in Woodside, Telford. She has studied Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and is a TRIM (Trauma and Resilience Management) practitioner. As well as being a Mentor for many years she also co-leads the local mentoring programme for GPs. Mel has been involved in leadership and coaching for the over 10 years and GP education for over 17 years leading the educational programme for GPs locally. She has been a GP trainer and enjoys her role as a GP appraiser. She works in Lifestyle medicine and is a presenter for the PLM course in London. Her other interests are Women’s Health & Menopause and Wellbeing Aesthetics Medicine. She was the clinical lead in the STW Health and Wellbeing Board and is now a GP Champion for the Creative Health Network UK. Mel is a clinical board member of South East Telford PCN, a GP Board Member and a member of the LMC.
