Dr Rachael Hayhurst

Rachael shares the role of Differential Attainment Lead for GP Trainees with her colleague, Dr Gideon Eyitemi. Their role aims to ensure GP training in Shropshire is fair and inclusive. They offer bespoke support to registrars who need some additional support during their training. Their role is focused around International Medical Graduates (IMGs) who often face additional challenges when moving to work and train in a new healthcare system like the NHS. Rachael also works as one of the local training programme directors (TPDs).

For her clinical role, she is based at Bridgnorth Medical Practice where she works as a salaried GP. When she’s not at work she can usually be found crafting or getting stuck into a DIY project, often with the unsolicited assistance of her two mischievous cats, Barney & Luna!
